cannot play mkv file

hi,
I am new to using oplayer to view video file in iPhone. But it cannot play any mkv files using oplayer.

When i click the mkv file, it appears a dark screen and few seconds later return to oplayer file manager page

At first i wonder the filename problem, but it's not. I have few mkv files, which i use "mediainfo" to check:
Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
Writing library : x264 core 80 r1376M 3feaec2

My iphone play rmvb file perfectly but fail to play mkv. Is that OPlayer lite version cant play mkv file?

Could anyone encounter the same problem..?

I am using iPhone 3GS.

It happens the same to me with an iPad2.

It can't seem to play MKV videos, even if they are encoded in h264 and AAC, with or without subs.

Please, fix this.

Only MP4 file with H264/AAC can use the hardware decoding. other file format only can use software decoding, so you still can't play 1280P movies as MP4 file.

the mkv file is 640*480 pixels, and 29.7 fps

is that the problems ..?

You can try to enable skip frame for playing it in sync, if you were using iPhone 4 or iPad, it should be played smoothly.
