Lost movies files?

Hi,
I just installed OPlayer and loaded some movies / subs. It runs perfect, thanks!

But, while I organizing programs icons in my iPod Touch, I erased OPlayer. Stupid I am!
No problem, I reinstalled it thru iTunes.

Now I have lost the movies I previously loaded (no big a deal), but it seems the files are still somewhere in the iPod. at least the space is not free as iTunes show me.
Is it possible? How to fix this?

Is that because you have jail-broken your iPod? and then they becomes to the different app?

No, my iPod Touch is brand new, and not yet (!) jail-broken.
OK, I must admit that I am a little less sure the file are still in...

Question: should they be automatically removed when the application is trashed ?
If you tell me "yes", maybe I am wrong to believe they are still in the iPod.

If you removed the app, sure the data under it will all be deleted.
