avi DX50

Hello there!

I've begin to have problems to open some .avi files which I had opened previously with no problem
This are .avi files with codec DX50
I've no problems with xvid, mp4, mkv, wmv or m4v.
Whwn I try to open any file with extension .avi and codec DX50, the program quit inmediately.
Curiously, If I change the extension to .mp4 "fooling" the program, it opens the file and one can hear the sound but don't view the images
Previously I've watched this files with no problem. It seems as if a recent actualizatio of the program has brought the incompatibility to the DX50 codec

Any help?

Notice: This is a patent issue, these players will be asked to remove the codec support.

Excuse me, but is the first time in many years using different forums that, after a week, I don´t recieve any answer to my request for help with a problem.
Have I asked a stupid/nonsense question?
