Problems with streaming videos

Postby Jens » Mon Sep 03, 2012 6:51 pm

Hi,

I just downloaded the app AirPlayer from the Apple-AppStore.
After installing I tried to open 2 different videos (.mp4 50MB; .avi 1700MB).
Both videos first loaded up to ~99%, after a couple of seconds the name of the video appeared in the upper bar, then the video reloaded up to <100% and so on.
This process was endless. I restarted the app - it didn't change something.

I'm using an iPhone 4. As a mediaserver I have a Fritzbox 7390.
I was logged in into my WLAN, VPN was deactivated.
I checked the first video (.mp4) with another app - there the streaming was OK.

Can anyone help me with that?

Have you tried to enlarge cache size in the settings page, and change plugin in the settings page?

Thanks for the reply! Now it works :)
I set the Cache to max. and changed the plugin to quicktime for the .mp4 video - this one works great.
For the .avi video i set the plugin to ffmpeg - the video runs but audio and video are not synchronous. Maybe it's due to the size of 1.7GB.

Today I checked if I can reach the mediaserver via 3G + VPN, unfortunately the mediaserver wasn't found in the app.
With another app it worked.

Any hints?

when the server was detected in the local network, follow the steps in the server detail page.
