Hello, I just downloaded the AirPlayer app, and am wondering how do I connect it to my MyBook Live remotely?

Do I first have to connect to it when I'm local?
I can't seem to find instructions, Thansk,

when you connect to it locally, click the server detail page to get the steps how to add it remotely.

Hi

I have tried to follow instructions but can't get it o work with the BT homehub modem. My book app works connecting via Internet but airplayer does not.

@Wilde I'm in your same shoes. I'm close, but still cannot actually view files over 4G. To set up, ensure you have your public IP set as your IP address when setting up your manual server. I can access the server over 4G, but cannot view the files themselves. They either do not show or if they do show, when trying to access I get a black screen with a loader forever.

Maybe you need to do open port in your homehub modem, other app may uses 80 port, which is no needed to open it in your modem.

Thanks Admin but i have done that.

In BT Homehub i have set up port forwarding as follows:
Name: MyhomeHub
any: port range 9000-9000 translate 9000-9000
TCP: port range 9000-9000 translate 9000-9000

This is then assigned to MyBookLive

I have tested online and the port is open

My ISP does change my IP address when i restart my router but i have tried changing this also.
In the Airplayer App under the unkown media server the settings are:
http://86.***.43.77:9000/MyhomeHub.xml (note: *** masked IP address and i have not physically put that in)

I have tried changing the name here to MyBookLive.xml and also MyBookLive- Twonky.xml

None of these seem to have any effect when external to my firewall.......

I would love to get this sorted so that i can play stuff when remote.

If not can anyone suggest another app please?
