Does AirPlayer work with Aplle TV3

I found AirPlayer in my search to stream films from my Qnap 121 NAS to Apple TV3. I installed it on my iPhone 5 but only the sound is streamed. Is this correct? Is there anyway to stream to Apple TV3 from a NAS?

By the way I was trying a mp4 file.

make sure you have turned airplay mirroring in the task bar.
