Using Airplayer over the internet

Postby plattdh » Mon Dec 16, 2013 3:40 pm

Hi

Airplayer works fine on my local LAN and detects my NAS all OK

I am trying to access my files over the internet.

Im using a Synology NAS and an iphone or ipad

Relevant port forwarding has all been set up and I have added the following details in airplayer setup:

http://ipaddress:50001/desc/device.xml

It shows as an Unknown media server, and when i select it it jush highlights the unknown media server and hangs

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Dan

OK, can now connect to the NAS over the internet.

I can see the three default folders, Music, Photos and video, but cannot see any content in these folders, even though there is some there

any ideas?

Have you setup shared folders in your nas side?
