AirPlayer not freeing download space

I'm a huge fan of AirPlayer, which I use on my iPad, but I'm encountering an issue with the Download option. I can download, watch and remove videos absolutely fine from the Download tab but then it seems that AirPlayer is holding onto the storage space it was using for these videos. This inevitably causes the storage space used by the app to grow and grow until such time as my device becomes full. In order to remedy this I have to regularly delete and re-download the entire app, which is obviously not ideal. Is this a known issue or am I just missing something?
