iPad and WD My Book World - help

Postby galtom » Sat Jul 23, 2011 6:31 am

Hi,
It is my first post here. I just got my iPad (1) two days ago and I am reaching point of crying.
I got at home 3 Windows 7 PC's and NAS drive - WD My Book World. I got no idea how to make the two work together
:-(.
Currently I can see my NAS drive as one of the devices in the network, but unlike with my netbook or desktop I do not see any folders/drives on it.

Under Windows all I had to do was to add each of the folders on the drive as a separate network drive (mapping), with iPad I have no clue what to do.

Can you help?

Kind regards,
Tom

Do you mean can't see the files of the NAS in AirPlayer?
Maybe you need to setup shared folders in the UPnP model of your NAS, but Iam not sure, as I don't have this NAS.

Exactly, no folders, no files, no nothing.
But device itself is found and recognized.
I am not sure what do you mean by shares under uPNP, but I know this function was switched off.
Under Windows it was not necessary as I was mapping all the drives.
I am on holidays now and since I switched off my NAS I do not have direct access.
I will ask for your help and provide you with some screens (if I may) in 2 weeks.

In the mean time if you have any other suggestions - what should I read, I will appreciate your help.
