Need help to add server manually

Postby Ferrisa » Thu Aug 11, 2011 2:42 am

I have a NetGear router WNDR4000 which connects to a USB hard drive with my movies. When I connect in my house, air player can detect and play it with no problem, i need help to understand what tells me to do to set it up for over Internet access. This is what it asks me to do,
1) do the port mapping to (my ip :8200) to (public IP:8200) in your router
2) Add the device description URL with the public IP manually.

Can some one help me in simple English what I need to do? My router does not have any port mapping, but it has port forwarding and port triggering. Where do I need to go and what I need to type. I appreciate all the help I can get

I did this, but why sometimes I can see my server and sometimes it does not recognize it, and sometimes it recognizes it, but I cannot see the subfolders of my folders in my media server? I appreciate you helping me. Thanks

Do you have this situation when in the local network?
From your description, seems a network issue.
