Can't see TVersity server from 3G internet on Iphone

Postby aguaman » Thu Feb 17, 2011 4:14 pm

Hi,

I recently purchased AirPlayer for the iPhone and the app automatically sees my TVersity V. 1.9.3 media server and works great while connected to my local network. However, it will not detect TVersity while using 3G from the internet (remotely). I have tried manually adding the server using http://my ip:41952/description/fetch without success. I have forwarded the port 41592 in my Verizon Fios Actiontec router. The interesting thing is that I can stream movies from my Vista Ultimate PC to my iPhone using TVersity's http web streaming feature just fine, yes even remotely using 3G, however AirPlayer just won't work. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Im also looking for help in this particular area. My current port is 8080 per sky router but not sure how to set this up to ensure i can stream media to my iphone 4. Can anyone be of assistance? Do i need to enter http://(my public ip):8080/description/fetch in airplayer for streaming to work or am i just completely lost? Do you have to put in a specific description or do you just write exactly what is stated above? Also what about the username and password fields, what do you enter there? is this your router username and password?

Thanks

1. do the port mapping in your route: route's wan ip:41952<=>your media servers' local ip:41952
2. enter http://your route's wan ip :41952/description/fetch in AirPlayer, left username pass empty if your media server has no password
