Mediatomb access via internet

Postby wallace4793 » Tue Dec 21, 2010 8:46 pm

Hi

I have an iphone/ipad and want to use airplayer remotely using the phone/pad. I can access my mediatomb player (running on an nslu2) when on the local network using : http://ipaddress:50500/description.xml (airplayer autofinds on the home network but i can add manually also)

I have forwarded the port in question to the nslu2 ipadress and confirmed the port is open with portforward.com but when i switch my wifi off on my iphone and add a server with my ipaddress as listed on my router the server is not found....anyone any ideas?

Can you get the xml file if you put the URL in your iPhone's safari app?
