Hi.
When you browse folders that are store locally on the device you have an option to play a complete folder and add the contents to an existing playlist. However, this functionality is not available for folders on (samba) shares.
Such functionality would enable me to stream music from my home server via the iPad and directly to my AirPlay enabled receiver. I encourage you to put it on the list of future enhancements as there is great frustration among iOS users that you are not able to play/stream files that are not stored on the iDevice itself, and adding this would make OPlayer a killer app also for music.
Desired functionality in prioritized order
- Enable play button on remote folders
- Enable add to playlist for remote folders
- Enable the possibility of creating a new playlist with the contents of a folder (not only to add it to an existing playlist). Default name for the new playlist should be the folder name that you are highlighting.
- Enable "now playing" playlist where you by long pressing can add a file or a folder as "play next", "put at bottom of playlist", etc (like on Spotify).
For the record: I'm happy navigating folders, so you should not spend time on indexing the files, make them searchable, etc.
