AirPlay support

I notice that the button for using AirPlay appears beside the volume slider when playing an AVI on my iPad. If I press this it allows me to select my Apple TV, but the video/sound never appears on the Apple TV. It would be great if this worked!

I saw in another post that mp4-files works but I don't want to transcode my files.
Please let us AirPlay all videofiles to Apple TV! Is it poossible?

Currently it is impossible, hope apple will open the interface to us in the future IOS update.

But youtube- and svtplay-app (and more) can stream to Apple TV?

they are native media formats.
Good news, seems IOS5 can airplay any file format to apple tv.

Hi all first time poster, air player is awesome, keep it up.

I also have this ( No video, only audio) problem and have read extensively trying to find a workaround, and have a couple of points to make.

Firstly, I would like to say regarding air player and airplay, no one seems to know they are different things, lots complaining, about problems. Airplay works fine with native apps, also works fine with files played in download manager, but AIRPLAYER isn't compatible, it took me three hrs of searching and this was the first time I've seen it stated, on this thread.

Secondly, I think i have the temporary solution people need. There is Mirroring available, just start the video, press HOME twice, scroll left to the volume controls and press the tv-out button, then check mirroring and your apple tv. Seems to have worked for me, just remember to lock the rotation.

Haven't seen this written anywhere so if people can post this fix anywhere they can it'll spread the word and people can watch their programs where they like.
